Alphabet Moon is an unedited video of the moon and its reflection taken while performing rapid gestures with my wrists. I’m interested in the large impact of micro movements as well as leader/follower roles that get inverted. Here making the moon appear micro and organic while I remain large and stable flips my usual sense of magnitude and control. The moon also struggles with its relfection to take a lead. I like thinking about image and object as indescernible and bound. To me this is a partner piece to legs.
Another doubling occurs when photographing the video as it plays on an iphone. Both the moon and its reflection layer themselves creating new shapes. It may be endless.
